Shahbaz Sharif banned from going abroad despite Pakistan court order: PML-N

May 8 (Language) Despite being allowed by a court to go abroad for treatment, Pakistan Opposition Leader Shehbaz Sharif was barred from going to the UK on Saturday.

Shahbaz's party spokesperson Maryam Aurangzeb said Sharif was allowed to go abroad for treatment by the Lahore High Court on Friday but the top investigating agency allegedly put his name in "any other list" and barred him from leaving the country.





The court had granted "conditional permission" to Shehbaz to be treated in britain from May 8 to July 3 for treatment and shahbaz, who has been accused of corruption, was ready to approach his elder brother and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in London. Dawn News quoted Pakistan Muslim League (N) (PML-N) spokesperson Maryam Aurangzeb as saying that Shehbaz (69) was not allowed to board the plane from Lahore airport to travel to the UK via Qatar on Saturday.




He said the Federal Investigation Authority (FIA) allegedly put Shehbaz's name in "any other list", which prevented him from leaving the country.

Meanwhile, FIA immigration officials said that Shahbaz's name has not yet been removed from the blacklist by the Home Ministry.
