'This year's corona epidemic will prove more deadly for the world', WHO warning

Geneva: The World Health Organization (WHO) has warned that the corona virus epidemic will prove to be more deadly this year than last year. WHO Director General Tedros Adanom Gebreus (WHO Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus) said that we are seeing this epidemic of corona virus becoming more deadly this year than last year. The WHO has said that over 33 lakh 46 thousand people have lost their lives due to corona till now. Meanwhile, Japan has extended the period of emergency in the country amid the demand to cancel the Olympics.

In India, there were 50 thousand deaths due to corona in just 14 days, more than one lakh patients died in 46 days.

The Director General of WHO said that the number of deaths due to the epidemic has increased very fast. Japan has declared an emergency in three more areas just 10 weeks before the Olympics. While there is a demand for cancellation of the event in a camp with more than 3 lakh 50 thousand signatures. Tokyo and the surrounding area was under the order of emergency till the end of May, now Hiroshima, Okayama, North Hokkaido have also been brought under its ambit, where the Olympic Marathon is to be held.

Significantly, due to the fourth wave of Corona, Japan's medical system is also under great pressure. The public is raising their voice against organizing Olympic Games there this year. Kenji Sunomiya, who was the candidate for the governorship of Tokyo, said that we should give priority to saving lives and not the ceremony. He has submitted a petition with more than three and a half lakh signatures to the city administrators.



Also bad news for Taiwan, all entertainment venues in Taiwan's capital have been closed indefinitely. The library and sports center are also closed. Corona infection has been found in the pilots here, after which the government has become alert. So far, only 1290 cases of corona have been reported in Taiwan and only 12 deaths have taken place.
